To be successful in this senior role, candidates must not only possess formal skills such as budgeting and budget control and financial reporting, but also high emotional intelligence and the ability to interact and work in a team. A BCom, with completed articles and CA(SA) certification is the minimum requirement sought. This must be supported by specialist status (experience at one of the leading firms) in financial management and extensive experience in operational management in a manufacturing  environment. Computer literacy (SAP and MS Office, with intermediate
Excel) is very important and candidates must be members of SAICA. The ability to interpret data and provide financial insight, along with a drive for performance, is also required.
