Royal Swazi Sugar
Tsb Sugar International holds a 27.42% stake in the Royal Swaziland Sugar Corporation Limited (RSSC). As one of the largest companies in Swaziland, RSSC employs some 3,000 people and produces two-thirds of the country's total sugar and a significant quantity of ethanol.
RSSC manages sugar cane estates on behalf of the Swazi nation as well as independent land owners. It operates two mills, namely Simunye mill and Mhlume mill who collectively crush approximately 2.3 million tons of cane each year producing some 425 000 tons of sugar. Additionally, Mhlume mill operates a refinery which produces 170 000 tons of refined sugar in a season, while Simunye mill's ethanol plant has a production capacity of 32 million litres per annum.
