Komati

In 1991 Tsb Sugar was granted the right to set up a second mill.  The Komati Mill, situated 26 km from Komatipoort, was completed in 1994 with new generation equipment.

The original factory was designed to process 1.15 million tons of cane with provision made to double this capacity. Capacity expansion projects took place in 1999 and 2006 to take the mill to its present crushing capacity of 2.6 million tons of cane over a 38 week period (at an average rate of 500 tons per hour) to produce 320 000 tons of raw sugar. This raw sugar is dispatched to the Malalane Mill for refining and to Maputo Harbour for export.

Komati Mill is also currently the most sophisticated mill in the Southern Africa.
